Educators Invited to Participate in Virtual Town Hall Meetings with State Superintendent John White

Last month, Superintendent White released a preliminary plan, Louisiana Believes, and announced an extensive outreach initiative, whereby he is asking educators to assist him in building on and improving the proposed strategy, with the aim of ensuring recent legislation and ongoing initiatives are effectively implemented to support the success of all students. In total, White has scheduled 22 on-site meetings with local education leaders, teachers, and principals statewide before the end of this school year.

In an effort to expand on these outreach meetings, Superintendent White is hosting Virtual Town Halls to enable more teachers to participate in the finalization of the Louisiana Believes plan. Educators may choose to participate in the following schedule of upcoming meetings:

• May 11: 4 p.m.
• May 14: 4:30 p.m.
• May 14: 7 p.m.

Teachers may participate in the event by logging on to www.louisianaschools.net and clicking on the Virtual Town Hall icon on the LDOE’s homepage. Teachers may also submit  questions prior to the event, or during the presentation, by sending an email to Louisianabelieves@la.gov.
